Welcome to the DEA Sandbox

The Digital Earth Australia Sandbox is an environment where you can use DEA Earth Observation data and the Open Data Cube. Your Sandbox is a dedicated virtual machine with 16 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage. It's perfect for learning and experiments, and it's free!

Warning: The Sandbox is not a production environment. The default notebooks are reset each time you log in and your data may be deleted if you have not logged in for 90 days. Please make backups of your work!

• May 2024 — The Sandbox Python environment has been updated to the latest versions of several important Python packages including datacube, dea-tools, and odc-geo.
• Apr 2024 — The new DEA Intertidal product suite and DEA Waterbodies v3.0.0 data have been added to the DEA Sandbox. You can explore this new data in the 'DEA_products' directory.
